Minutes of Instution
Brookville Auxiliary #983 - Sunday, Oct. 5, 1958
Meeting opened in due form at 3:00 pm by the New Castle Class C Degree Team. After the Opening Ceremony,
the instituting Deputy explained the purpose of the meeting.
The Charter List of 76 members was read and approved. Balloting on 69 members followed and found favorable.
Candidates took the Obligation of Instution. The 69 members present were initiated by the
New Castle Degree Team, who did an excellent job.

The Officers were installed by the New Castle Team, with Margaret Lawton, State President, as Installing President
and Cora Burchfield, State Secretary, as Installing Conductor. The Installation was beautifully performed, with the
team using pink and gold gladiolas to form an arch as ech Office was installed in her respective Office.
The gladiolas were the presented to the newly installed Madam President Helen Rhodes.
The Instituting Deputy introduced Margaret Lawton, State President, Cora Burchfield, State Secretary,
Cecelia Jackson, State Treasurer and Orpha McConnell, State Pianist and they spoke briefly. The Deputy thanked
New Bethlehem's President Trudy Baker and Past President Evelyn Ruddisil for assisting the team as guards.
The Organizer and newly installed Madam President Helen Rhodes was introduced and congratulated on her fine
work in organizing such a fine Auxiliary. Helen spoke briefly.
Under new business, the Deputy explained the bonding of the Officers. A motion was made by Pauline Griffin,
seconded by Margaret Rader, that a warrant check for $5.04 be drawn to pay for the blankek bond. Motion carried.
The By-Laws were read and explained. A motion was made be Sarah Pitts, seconded be Florence Hetrick, that the
By-Laws be accepted as read. Motion carried.
The Deputy thanked the New Castle Degree Team for their fine work, also the State Officers for their assistance.
There were more visitors from the New Bethlehem Auxiliary.
Closing Ceremonies by the New Castle Team. Meeting adjourned.
A delicious dinner was served to the Auxiliary members and visitors.
